Record Earthquakes

These are the record quakes of the last 10 years. Usually an earthquake that kills more than 15,000 comes every 10 years or so, but as you can see, we have seen 6 in the last 10 years.

Aug. 17, 1999 – Izmit, Turkey – 17,000 dead
Jan. 26, 2001 – India – 20,000 dead
Dec. 23, 2003 – Bam, Iran – 30,000 dead
Dec. 26, 2004 – Indonesian – 270,000 dead
Oct. 8, 2005 – Kashmir, Pakistan – 55,000 dead
May 12, 2008 – Western China – 50,000 dead

Beware, for there will be signs in the heavens and on the Earth, as the Lord is near to His return.

Earthquakes

Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.” Matthew 24:4-7

The death toll is now estimated at 12,000, and is likely to rise, from the earthquake that struck China. This on top of the cyclone that hit Burma/Myanmar and killed between 100,000 and 200,000. That is between 1 and 2 out of every 60,000 people in the world that died within the last week due to these two natural disasters. You can see the statistics from the last four years in my post yesterday. These events are getting closer together and more violent each time. What kind of hurricane season do we have ahead of ourselves this year? How many big earthquakes are going to hit this year?

All The Work! Oh my!

Have mentioned how extremely busy I have been lately? Yeah, crazy! lol I have been killing tons of code for Joe Martin for the last few weeks, which has been great fun and great work, but it has been trying to keep me from blogging as much as I want to, among other things.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19-20 (ESV)

“And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of people that these liberties are the gift of God?”

Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia, Query XVIII, 1794
